VLN 10/26/2019 – Viper GT3-R from Team Zakspeed

October 26th, 2019 marked the last race of the 2019 VLN season at the famous Nurburgring in Germany. As Team Zakspeed brought the Viper back to the starting grid for a last time in this season (after only a few outings in the beginning of the season), we were adamant to see the snake live.

Due to heavy traffic and therefore the lack of a somewhat empty track for a top lap, the GT3-R (chassis no. GT3R-C002, manufactured in 2014) was bound to start from P16 after the qualifying session on Saturday morning.

Top performances from the drivers and the car soon saw them on P3 in hard fights with the Manthey Porsche. However, a broken differential ended the dreams of a podium finish about two hours in the race, and the Viper had to retire.

The driver pairing consisted of Daniel Keilwitz and Hendrik Still .
